Don’t you wish big companies would stop pretending they really care about customers and just tell the truth? I know a bit about the PR caper so my advice would that they should run ads saying something like “Customers are a pain in the butt so if we are nice to you it’s a bonus but don’t get your hopes up”.

I got to thinking about this when I’d spent a few hours on the phone to Qantas trying in vain to convert some points into an upgrade. The final straw came with the last strained call when the customer service (oxymoron alert) person ended the conversation by trying to sell me travel insurance.

So why does no one tell us in the US, Ford is recalling about 140,000 of its 2013 Escape crossovers, Jeep 91,000 2014 of its Grand Cherokee vehicles due to loss of anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control, Honda Odyssey vehicles due a problem that may apply the brakes unexpectedly and the Bentley Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur vehicles, for brake rotors may fail after being exposed to salty conditions.
