Verstappen set the fastest lap in F1 history of 1:18.792, averaging 265.69km/h. He beat Lewis Hamilton's record and pipped Lando Norris by 0.006 seconds. The race became the fastest GP ever (250.7km/h average). But Oscar Piastri still leads the championship by 31 points — 34 consecutive points finishes, third-longest in F1 history.
McLaren's new Middle Eastern owners just bought out the rest of the company at a $7.5bn valuation — more than Ferrari fetched in its last deal.
